MG TD TF 1500 - TF Seat Cushion

Before I restore the seat cushions in the TF, does anyone have advice regarding the Moss cushion replacements that are offered, such as a good alternative, or customizing?

I see that the only improvement suggested was to insert additional foam into the cutouts (voids) that are in the Moss foam to stiffen the seat, which is otherwise too soft.

I think that the Moss seat cushion is just a solid block of polyether foam (some think a bit soft). The original very high quality latex foam cushion was fenestrated (had square cut outs in the back) and if still usable but a bit soft can be stiffened up by putting polyether foam inserts into the square holes.

Dave do you know of a modern foam that is the equal to the original high quality latex foam? If so can you suggest a supplier? Cheers

The original latex foam (in the required form) is no longer available. However, a polyether foam that will do the job should be obtainable from somebody such as Vitafoam. I think the optimum solution is to have a layer of firm foam with a softer layer over the top. A proper upholsterer should be able to advise.

The Moss foam was not shaped like the original so I has to sculpt it to the proper shape.
