MG TD TF 1500 - TF Workshop Manual
Hi All, I have always put my workshop manual and owner's guide, for my '54 TF, in the same drawer. The other day I went for it and the manual was gone. I have looked everywhere and it is nowhere to be found. So, I am asking if anyone in this BBS may have an official TD-TF workshop manual for sale. I live in NW Florida. Also, I had a valve job done on the cylinder head and was wondering if someone can let me know the tightening order and torque for the head and rockers and what the cold setting is for the valve lash. I am putting it together to start up the engine and see how it runs. Thank you, George |

George: Click on these links to files on my Google Drive. When the file opens you can read on screen, or click the "Download" icon to download and print (downward pointing arrow with a bar across the tip, located near the top center of the screen.) > Cylinder head torque and tightening order - Sources: TD/TF Workshop Manual & WKF Wood http://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxisXBEpc-IWNmlzWjh6aTBLME0/view?usp=sharing > Tappet Adjustment - Source: TD/TF Workshop Manual http://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxisXBEpc-IWeFZSRWFZTUpRT1U/view?usp=sharing Dave Dubois and WKF Wood show different torque values for 8mm rocker tower bolts, but they agree on torque for the 10mm bolts. Other BBS members can clarify. > 8mm Rocker Tower Bolts WKF Wood = 29 ft-lb Dave Dubois = 19 ft-lb > 10mm Rocker Tower Bolts WKF Wood = 43 ft-lb Dave Dubois = 43 ft-lb Please contact me. My address is at the top of this post. Lonnie TF7211 |

Woody Wood's typo should be corrected - Dave Dubois's figure or 19 lb/ft for the smaller rocker bolt is correct. 29 lb/ft stands an excellent chance of snapping the bolt, or at least twisting it. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Tom - Thanks for the correction. I'll remove the error and note the change in my files. Lonnie TF7211 |

Thank all of you who replied. All of your information is exactly what I needed. When people look at our classics we get the credit for them running and the restorations, but it is all of you on this BBS that get the credit also. If not for your experience, knowledge, and your time, where would we be. A huge thank you to you all! I am very grateful for all of you! George |

George, Paste this item number into your ebay search. Looks like a really good copy if it doesn't go up too much in price. Item number: 251954910811 Good luck, Kirk |

I did just notice that this copy doesn't show TF on the cover. So, it may not be what you want. |

George I have a pdf Vs that I can send you if you still have the requirement. Not a bad resource you can print the pages you need to do a task, get them dirty in the workshop and then discard. Graeme |
