MG TD TF 1500 - Thais seems like a steal to me.
It does have a Datsun 5 speed but the price seems very low. http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/mg/286639-1953-california-restored-mgtd-only-7200-miles-since-frame-off-red-biscuit.html Tim Tried to edit the title to correct misspelling but it seems that is not allowed. |

Replica maybe? $6,600!!! Huh? |

Wrong tail lights but looks like a real TD to me. I'll let the more experienced members decide. Tim |

Tail lights changed to round at car 21301 so they are correct. From the few not high res pictures, a decent car. Rough paint on the firewall. If engine and wood good I would buy it for $6K right now. Of course that is starting bid...George |

Doesn't look like an auction to me. Says, " Want to buy? Contact seller!" |
L Karpman |
Could be a total scam! I almost fell for one of those once. They wanted money wired to Timbucktoo or somewhere. |

Although advertised as a 53 it was built in September of 52. It doesn't appear to be an auction. Wonder why they don't show the engine. The ad states that the engine is original. Tim |

Gotta be missing a 1 or a 2 in front of the 6,600. That write up description cost $5,000. I love my driver TF but this price makes me depressed. |
Peter Dahlquist |
I'm with you, Peter. Indeed, given the description length I suspect it's missing a zero off the end, instead! (You know how these dealers like to inflate their car prices). |

"We meet some great people and fellow enthusiasts, and only rarely do we have problems with non-paying bidders. Please be certain that you are prepared to buy the car if you bid, or call us at 925-846-1451 before the end of the auction if we can answer any questions. If you have a "sunglass" rating or fewer than 10 feedback ratings on eBay, please call us before you bid so that we can discuss the bidding process, etc. If we do not hear from you, we reserve the right to delete your bid."
Fear not. The above indicates that it's an auction and the $6,600 is the opening bid. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Ok, so where does one bid? I don't see anything on that page to indicate the bidding process. |

They must have sold it somewhere else. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1953-CALIFORNIA-RESTORED-MGTD-ONLY-7-200-MILES-SINCE-FRAME-OFF-RED-BISCUIT-/322468204941?rmvSB=true Tim |

Classified ad from the November 9, 1961 Cincinnati Enquirer, "MG-TD (19531-Rebuilt engine; excellent top and tonneau. Classic. Must sell; $950." Tim |
Tim Burchfield |
Here it is for sale $18,095.00. http://car-from-uk.com/sale.php?id=430580 Tim |

I can send it to our club president (Sacramento Valley MG Car Club) and get some information on it if interested. |
