MG TD TF 1500 - Thermostat housing TF

I am looking for a thermostat housing for the TF that has a TWO outlets on its' left side - one for the temperature sensor and another for a heater connection. I don't wish to use the plate at the rear of the head as a take off or return point. If anyone has a spare I would be interested. Like the image below.

Many thanks Merv

Found and NOS one here. So all good thanks.

Don't forget they are two different threads
Mix them up at your peril

On my car, it is a single output. But one day, I intend to put a T branch in it to connect the heater and the sensor also.

I remember that I did a temporary branch of the heater on that single output. But it didn't work. Probably not enough pressure gradient between input and output of the heater. I should probably install an additionnal pump.

You mean the mounting bolt threads Ray? Or the threads for the adapters?

M Hyde

The one for the temp gauge is American pipe but the other is British pipe.
They have different thread pitches and angles
I found out the hard way many years ago.
My temp gauge failed and I just screwed in a BSP plug. Well I am British and it is a British car!!!!

Thanks Ray. Good advice. I am looking at the temp sensor connection and the heater connection to the housing today and with the various test adapters that I have, I can feel a difference in threads! Some hunting around to do ...

I should have added Ray that the real challenge is getting out the temperature sender-intact! I mixed up some acetone and ATF and soaked it over 24 hrs so far and will also try some "Freeze and Release" on it tomorrow maybe. I don't want to break the hex nut off in the head! The sensor itself seems clean and not crudded up.
M Hyde

Gently turn the nut a few degrees. Make sure the sender bulb is free in the tube nut and put some more release fluid in if not.
If you are not happy take the housing off and give the sender a wiggle.
It is getting hard to find non electrical gauge repairers nowadays

Thanks Ray. It came off after a long soak on both sides of the fitting with some acetone/ATF mix and finally the use of some CRC Freeze on the hex nut only. No heat! I found a good description of a process.
