Peter (TD 110879) and I (TD 25009) will be doing it along a different route this afternoon. We'll keep the cars at least 6 feet apart and at least 6 feet away from other people but we'll wave and honk as we go by.

Be smart, stay safe and stay well but don't let this damndemic turn you into a troglodyte. Get out and drive.

I’m with you, Jud. Wife and I have been going on drives in the TD and the MINI cabriolet and keeping our distance. I’ve also managed to do some work on the TD (new stainless thermostat housing and oils serviced), and on the Sunbeam Alpine I’ve been doing a brake job on the rear axle after rebuilding the differential. Had to machine new pistons for the wheel cylinders because the old steel ones had rusted. Decided to make them from bearing bronze to prevent that ever happening again. Combined with the brass sleeved cylinders, these brakes should last quite a while longer.

Those machined parts are just beautiful. I wish I had that kind of skill. As the As the crimson napes around here have been known to say' "Keep on truckin!"

Thanks, Jud. I'm really only an amateur machinist, and the lathe is a cheap Asian one, but after a lot of fettling to make it more accurate, it does now produce a decent result.

Here's the new stainless thermo housing.

After a drive to the local state park and a much needed exercise hike, earlier this week. Folks were pretty good about keeping their distance.

We can't do this in the UK, our isolation is more defined.Only necessary journeys allowed and you will be stopped by the police, fined and told to go home. Day 9 and running out of things to do.

I am waiting for some consistent warm weather so I can swap my tires. I have to do them by hand and it's a PITA.

We are not supposed to leave our homes either unless we are going to get food. All the parks, trails, courts have been locked out to keep people from behaving badly.

In our state the Governor has allowed driving to places to get exercise, and he has allowed the state parks to remain open, as long as folks maintain a safe distance. He has, however, closed all park services so there are no water fountains or bathrooms. Everyone we have encountered has been extremely cognizant of the rules and are being very diligent. It has always been our household custom to retain at least 3 months of food and supplies, so when this all hit we didn't really need to go out to any stores.

Here on our estate the woods are simply too thick to walk in at our age, but we do need to get daily exercise or else our own health will suffer (particularly as all we seem to do is sit around and eat!) So, we drive to the lesser used parks and stay double the distance (+15') from the rare person we encounter.

I think this a safe and well-reasoned approach.

We pretty much got the "Stay At Home" edict from the Governor of Florida. Now that I am furloughed from work, I go out early in the AM for a 2.6 mile walk and then stay home.

You're lucky over there that you only have to stand six feet apart. Over here it's six feet seven inches.

I've been building a TC, rebuilding the front end of a Healey and whatever the wife tells me to do. People around here are very good about keeping distance, using masks, etc. We see neighbors every day and we talk, but stay away from each other.

Yesterday was front axle day. I had to make a special tool on the lathe and all I had was a piece of really hard steel so it took a while. Pressed the bushings, reamed to size, reamed and honed the axle (the is a TC remember, solid axle) and got it assembled.

I guess we aren't allowed to edit posts anymore. Well, here are a couple more then. Also went for a nice drive to test the Healey yesterday. Tomorrow I'll take the TC out. No one here will stop you for being out, and fortunately no one seems to be doing anything stupid which would require them to.

I'll spare you all photos of the Healey. It's just a bunch of dirty suspension parts.

I have enough projects to last two pandemics. My garage is a great place to practice social distancing.

I got the spare tire rack stripped and primered, the front pan primered and the fuel tank support angles painted.

Tomorrow I start on the running boards and then on to the front fenders

Love it !

Sharing Technical info. and chatting about T type MGs, marvellous.

I am about to fit the newly painted wings, petrol tank stoneguards, bonnet, side engine panels etc in the 1955 TF1500 after a complete rebuild.
Getting closer.

No driving about allowed here-
You can go for food, medical or emergency only
$1800 fine or/and a jail term for non compliance
William Revit

Missed a 0--that's $18,000 fine +
William Revit

Damn, $18,000 fine. We are allowed to be out, no gatherings, 6 feet apart.

Most people are limiting outings, easily witnessed by the lack of traffic except near the supermarket/banks.

As soon as my remote reservoir for brakes arrives I will fit it, get the floorboard back in place and be out for a drive, first stop is at gas station.

By next weekend it should be warm enough to be driving.

Bored! However my TD has never run better ( a few weeks ago I finished dialing it in) Well let me just say the carburetors mixture is NOT "rich", as I just measured the jet to the bridge distance!
1 1/2"carburetors.
