MG TD TF 1500 - Triplex Logo Install

I made the logo masks, but no longer do so as my eyesight is just not good enough anymore to weed the tiny masks. I concentrate on LED lighting for classic British cars. (www.brittrix.com).
Glad this worked out, Bruce. Looks good!

WIth the help of Lew Palmer, Chris Cooper, Peter Hehir, and the archives of this web site, I got the Triplex logo on the windshield.

I got this from Lew (I don't know if he still gets these made). Chris listed instructions from Peter on his web page. I also consulted the archives to get more informaiton.

A pretty easy process using glass etching paste.

This really adds a touch of class.

I wanted to re-activate this thread as I'm interested in also affixing the triplex logo on my TF. Pretty sure the current windshield was a replacement some years back as it has no Triplex marking and the glass has a slight tint to it.

Likely will be a challenge to do this. Does anyone have an example of the logo (or the artwork) for a TF? My car was produced September 13, 1954 as a TF1500. Reading some other threads and websites, the windshields were produced about 3 months prior to the cars production date. That would dictate where the respective dot would show up above the TRIPLEX lettering. I assume the overall logo would be similar to the one Bruce has, except the L 50 V would be L 54 V? I also noted there was some discussion on ASWS as opposed to AS1. Perhaps there was a change somewhere between 1950 and 1954?? This is where a picture of an original windshield on a TF would come in handy!

The next trick is to get the artwork. Lew...can you still produce that? If so, can you advise what that might cost? Or perhaps Declan as I saw a number of Triplex logo's you created previously for the TD series.

The final challenge would be to find a company to transfer/cutout the artwork on a mask (I assume vinyl), then use etching paste to transfer to the windshield.

Any help/suggestions/direction would be appreciated. Jim
