MG TD TF 1500 - Turn Signal Pilot Light - one blink
The turn signals work in my TF-1500, but the pilot light on the dash blinks only one time. > What's my problem? Lucas Flasher FL5 12v/42w Made in England 35020A0575 I disconnected the pilot light lead from the flasher and attached a low wattage lamp. It also blinked only one time. I was surprised to learn that the other two leads are hot all the time ... forum search says that that is normal. I believe that the flasher is the original Lucas flasher. Hope that I won't need to replace it. Thanks, Lonnie TF7211 |

Lonnie, The turn signal warning light comes off the flasher unit (the small round thing). Any 12 volt positive earth unit should work as a replacement to try out. If the flashers on the car work OK, the big relay unit is fine. Rod ![]() |

This is the one Moss has Lonnie, Not bad really, and cheaper a tad via LBCC 44 141-750 $10.15 FLASHER, turn signal indicator (original screw terminals) 1 171-300 $8.50 FLASHER, turn signal indicator (repl. type, push-on term.) 1 Should solve the problem. Short of getting inside the original and seeing what can possibly be done. Rod |

Lucas "Made in England" flasher at Holden in GB for £24. Maybe mine will work if I thump it a few times! Lonnie TF7211 |

What bulbs are you using for the lamps? I have the same problem when I changed the rear lamps to LED's. The flasher works fine, but slightly faster. Their is not quite enough load to have the pilot flash more than once. ...CR |

If it is an LED problem, you may need to either find a replacement "no-load" LED compatible flasher or install resistors inline to increase load in order to trip the existing flasher. |
