MG TD TF 1500 - Update on Restoration of TD 4139
I spent the day with my mental therapy exercise of sanding the body. This is hopefully the last full coat of primer. As those of you that have been there/done that, you know you find something every time you work on the finish. Spending time here will help me get a nice paint job on the car. Hopefully, if the weather holds, I will get the tub painted next week. ![]() |

Finished the Tub today. My brother the painter is a real taskmaster. He keeps finding little defects that need that tiny spot of glaze. I know he is correct and that the prep work is very important. I am just hitting sanding burnout. I am reasonably sure MG did not put this effort into the prep. But then, they were working on a new car, Not one that is 70 years old. |
