MG TD TF 1500 - Upholstery companies in the UK
Looking to get some samples of red upholstery for my TD. With the current exchange rate, I wanted to include UK upholstery companies. All recommendations are appreciated as to good companies in the UK. (Still planning to use buckram for dash and probably door cards, but leather/vinyl for the seats) |

I obtained samples from most of them in all the colours and the only ones that were a close match to the original red trim on my seats and upholstery were from NTG and Collingburn, both in colour and grain. My seats had three layers of covers on, and the samples of the leather were taken from unfaded parts of the first and original layer. Some of the samples from other suppliers, weren’t even close to the originals. I used Collingburn, but wouldn’t again owing to the time it took, etc, so I suggest you look at NTG. The only major supplier that I did not sample was B&G, so probably worth a look.

Dave thank you for the information. I know Bruce and I are both looking for the correct bright red original upholstery vs what Moss offers here in the states. It appears darker than what I believe was the original color. My understanding is that Collingburn has a very long wait time but their kits are of exceptional quality. Bill Chasser TD/c-8151 |

You can scratch off Collingburn as he is no longer doing trimming for T series and only doing now MMM type. Frank TF1414 |

Hi The Collingburn patterns and supplies have been purchased and shipped to Indiana. Tom Wilson has set up shop there. Not sure if he is now doing T Type cars. His company is called Kimber Creek limited Zionsville IN. kimbercreekltd@gmail.com Gary |

Bruce, you could try AS Pickering in Bradford. My TF interior was done there and they were always used by Naylor Bros in their restorations. Not sure if they supply kits though. http://www.aspickering.co.uk David |

NTG are good for parts but be prepared to take out a second mortgage on your house to cover their postage costs!! I avoid buying from them for that very reason. Regards Declan |

Bruce, have you considered PJM Motors among the possibilities from the UK? http://www.pjm-motors.com/ttype/td-trim BobbyG |

Be thankful you are not after seat kits for a MG Y type, as there are limited suppliers. MG Y type kits are roughly double the cost, then a MG Y owner has to include the rear seat, so they are up for 4 times the cost of T type seat kit. Stuart |
