MG TD TF 1500 - Very OT - need help to find a person in USA
I care for an old lady who is sick and meanwhile disorientated. She always told me she was divorced. Now I have realized that she is still married in the context of German law and it is urgent to find her husband and find out if he is alive or dead. Are there public sources to get an answer? |

The fastest way, if you know his name (or even part of it) is to use WhitePages, a nation-wide phone directory. http://www.whitepages.com/ What other information do you know about him? |

If you believe he may be deceased, I'd check the Social Security Death Index. It's available through a number of venues: https://www.deathindexes.com/ssdi.html |

You might also try the US State dept. through our German embassy. They can get into the database and locate via tax records, Medicare, etc. |

Thank you whitepages (premium) gives informations only to people living in the USA Social Security Death Index seems to be a good source - I have to find out the birth date. I'll contact the embassy too. |

Herr Mueller, what is his connection to the U.S.A.? |
Bud Krueger |
Hi Bud, he was a citizen of NY. While he was working in the army, he married this lady in Germany. Both went to his family in NY. He was an employee of NYPD. They lived together for about 6 years. They made an agreement on divorce in NY, were divorced in Mexico and had broken every contact. This action was not legalized in Germany because she was missing from the court. Under German law she is still married. His name is italian and seldom. |

You say 'working in the Army'. Was he a member of the US Army, or a civilian employee? If a member, his Frau might still be listed as a spouse and can get records at https://www.usa.gov/veterans-documents. Hopefully, the S.S. Death Index might provide the answer. Bud |

I guess I have found his date of death - special thanks to Kevin for his hint! Now I'll try to get a document with help of the german embassy. |

Glad to help! |
