MG TD TF 1500 - WASHER, leather, pipe to oil gauge

Do any of you have a leather washer that goes between the oil pressure gauge and the oil pipe on a T-series? If so, will you please measure the O.D., I.D., and thickness of the washer? Plus any details that you can add.

I made one out of 1/16" fiber gasket material, but it has failed. So, I'll try to make one out of leather this time.

FYI - the Moss part description is ...
#435-516 $0.24 WASHER, leather, pipe to oil gauge

Lonnie - You could also use an 'O' ring in place of the leather washer. The Viton 'O' rings will hold up just as well as the leather ones. Cheers - Dave

Thanks Dave -

Do you have any idea what size?

I make my own out of some thin cork sheet. I use leather punches. A set of the punches were pretty cheap and I have used them quite often.

Abingdon has the leather one.

Lonnie,
Standard metric M3 Fibre washers fit. OD 8mm ID 3.2mm or get yourself an 8mm leather punch and use the point of a dart to make the hole in the centre. You could make dozens of them in a few minutes.

Thanks Declan and all -

I'll make some next week, plus purchase O-rings as a back-up.

I used an O ring on mine and it has held up very well. Not something one has to get factory correct with, just whatever works. PJ
