MG TD TF 1500 - WASHER, leather, pipe to oil gauge
Do any of you have a leather washer that goes between the oil pressure gauge and the oil pipe on a T-series? If so, will you please measure the O.D., I.D., and thickness of the washer? Plus any details that you can add. I made one out of 1/16" fiber gasket material, but it has failed. So, I'll try to make one out of leather this time. FYI - the Moss part description is ... #435-516 $0.24 WASHER, leather, pipe to oil gauge Thanks, Lonnie TF7211 |

Lonnie - You could also use an 'O' ring in place of the leather washer. The Viton 'O' rings will hold up just as well as the leather ones. Cheers - Dave |

Thanks Dave - Do you have any idea what size? Lonnie TF7211 |

I make my own out of some thin cork sheet. I use leather punches. A set of the punches were pretty cheap and I have used them quite often. |

Abingdon has the leather one. 03-128B $0.20 Jim B. |

Lonnie, Standard metric M3 Fibre washers fit. OD 8mm ID 3.2mm or get yourself an 8mm leather punch and use the point of a dart to make the hole in the centre. You could make dozens of them in a few minutes. Regards Declan |

Thanks Declan and all - I'll make some next week, plus purchase O-rings as a back-up. Lonnie TF7211 |

I used an O ring on mine and it has held up very well. Not something one has to get factory correct with, just whatever works. PJ |
