MG TD TF 1500 - What model is this ?
Interesting car, but curious as to model and production record. PJ

The MG F type Magna had a sloping back radiator, but it also had the normal splined wheels, whereas the photo car appears to have bolt on wheels. Could it be a special based on an F type, or just a different car. |

IF it is a MG the wheels could be from a M Type which also had the cross tube for the brakes. But it could be an Austin Seven special which had similar wheels. The holes for the wheel studs on the Austin were "key holed" so you could simply slacken the nut, rotate the wheel and lift it off. Can not see any detail though. Jan T |

The same photo is on the Burlen Systems web site, and it looks like Mr. Skinner in the driver's seat, and we know the Skinner family had at least a couple specials, so there's a good lead you could follow... |

It is the Triangle Skinner special, which is mentioned in the book 'Specials' by John Bolster, with a prewar photo of the car with its initial bolt-on wheels and Morris engine. It can also be found on the internet by typing in 'Some additional Skinner Specials background history', when it has its later Hudson engine and postwar wheels with centre-locking/knock on-off hub caps. It is now owned by Burlen Ltd, who own and supply Skinners Union carburettors. |

Thanks guys for that info. Very interesting. PJ |

Should have said - thanks to Steve Simmons (six cars ?) for providing the lead, and typing in would be using Google. |

Great sleuth work! Six cars was only the beginning. They just keep multiplying. Can't help it, I'm a sucker for strays. |
