MG TD TF 1500 - Which is correct?

One of my TFs (1250) has the body trim between the front valance and the wing ( comes down the wing and then goes out towards the tyre) and the other (1500) the trim runs down the wing and then between the front valance and the chrome grill.(Turns into the centre of the car) Which is correct please. Both I would add had extensive work by previous owners.Hope I've made myself clear.

Here are two pictures showing the trim

On my TF, the (half size) beading, number 1 arrow, comes down between the side panel and grill, the normal size beading comes down the wing to the bottom of the grill shell and turns under the shell, number 2 arrow and on top of the valance. You will need to take a small amount of the core out for it to lay flat under the shell. The half size beading is made from the regular beading by removing the core and inserting a smaller core. The mark on the lower side of the shell is a reflection. Don't remember where I got these directions, but they work. PJ

JK,

The TF body 'normal' diameter piping(front wing/guard) to engine side pane), continues to go between under the flange of the front wing and the top surface of the front valence(stone guard) i.e. toward the tyre not under the chrome radiator shell base.

Of course, the smaller diameter piping (short length) goes between the
side engine panel and chrome radiator shell. It originally was neatly folded over on the top end.

Cheers.

Thank you both. As I suspected the "normal" piping goes towards the tyre as with my 1250 and that the rebuild that had previously taken place on my 1500 was incorrect. Great looking project so far PJ.

I also appreciate the input on this, not that difficult to make it right by turning them the other way. PJ
