MG TD TF 1500 - Which way is your license plate bracket oriented?
I realized I put my license plate bracket on upside down. In pictures, The large slotted bar is on the bottom so the plate bolts through the bottom holes. But, it looks like you can use it so the plate attaches to the top of the license plate. This would lower the plate more towards the center of the fuel tank. Anyone have their license plate so it bolts to the top? |

Here is what I take as the correct way, and the other orientation.

Guess I have a third one. I arrange it so that the rubber bumper is against the middle of the plate. (Must pull some cable up to get the drip loop back in.) Bud

Looks as if LaVerne and I see it the same way. Bud |

I discussed this with Chris, and it appears it has to do with the size of the plate. Either way apparently will work. |

As Bruce stated if you have the old California license plates you have to flip the bracket as they are not tall enough.![]() |

Hi Bruce. Mines at the bottom been that way since I bought the car in 63. Butch |

I turned it around and added the plate today. (ignore the sticker, the car has been non-op since I brought it out from Wisconsin)

I found another picture with an original license plate and the bracket on the bottom, but when you add a license plate frame you just run out of room and have to flip the frame.![]() |
