MG TD TF 1500 - Who knows this car?
Amazing, isn't it ?

Looks like an updated version of one of Crazy Arnolt's Italian-bodied TDs. Jud |

Kind of Avanti looking with the fender humps and high ride height. Probably an aluminum bodied special. Definitely has an Italian influence. |

You are both right. This is a 1953 MG TD designed by the famous Italian designer Michelotti. Two were built by GHIA-Aigle coachwork, an independant firm based in Aigle, Switzerland. As far as I know, the car in the picture is still in Switzerland. |

So this must be the other one built then ?, also last seen in Switzerland. Very glad to finally have the designer of this car identified. Thank you C.M. groucho !. ![]() |

AL SLATTERY, thank you for the picture. I had never seen the blue one. These cars are part of the history and it is always interesting to learn something about our beloved TDs. |

Interesting that they were built by Ghia - when I looked at the picture of the red one the first thing I thought was that the windshield frame looks like a Karmann Ghia's. BobbyG |

The blue one seen on the MGCC Switzerland T Type run in 2016. Number plate is different as well. There's a listing and description of the two cars on the Ghia-Aigle website http://www.ghia-aigle.info/1953_mg.htm David ![]() |
