MG TD TF 1500 - Wind Wings
Just ordered a pair of wind wings, they will have some engraving on the bottom. I still have to figure out if thin shims will keep the set screws from marking the chrome.

You can get special set screws from McMasters. They have brass inserts with flat bottoms. They do much less damage. Jim B. |

Thanks Jim, I'll check them out. PJ |

Thanks Jim, much appreciated. I was going to ask you if you remembered the size of the screws. You must have read my mind! PJ |

Maybe you will run into the same issues I had fitting side screens. I had to severely modify their size and shape to facilitate being able to fit my side screens and to ensure they did not foul the dash. |

Ordered the set screws with the Brass tips. Bag of 25, smallest quantity they come in. So only needing 4, I'll have a bunch of extras. PJ |

These are great idea. My windshield has a litany of pot marks from various wind wings over its 60+ years. |

So Paul.....How did these Brass Tipped Setscrews work out? Did you use a Shim, or just run the Brass onto the Chrome? Mike-TF8257 |

Yes paul , do tell Bill Chasser jr TD4834 |

Well, The brass tipped set screws did not work out, sorry to say. The chrome is so slippery, they won't set right and when tightening them, they want to walk out toward the edge of the lip. I tried everything I could think of to prevent this with no luck. So the regular screws went back in and I had to use them to lock the brackets in place. So mine are like everyone elses. Oh well, the brackets & wings look nice though. PJ |
