MG TD TF 1500 - Windshield MGTD

I am missing two TD windshield screws (lf and rt) under the windscreen rubber. I went to put the windscreen down and saw the screws missing on both brackets. What size are these to order, please.

Don't forget you need the two wedges 408-250

Do you mean the windshield frame corners? Frame to the uprights? Or mounting brackets to the scuttle?

I see I'll need to post a photo. Honestly, thank you for contributing to this question. Two empty holes need to be addressed. More soon.

As a general note early TD's used slot heads on the windscreen and elsewhere. My guess is Paris is referring to the vertical holes in the windscreen support bracket to the scuttle, just below the windscreen rubber. If so I was missing one of the wedges that Chris refers to and made one from Steel Putty, a Pratley product made in South Africa. Cheers

Those wedges were originally brass. I now have a Moss one made from some unknown white metal. I am pretty sure my original one is somewhere in the car where it dropped down. I used lights and probes but could never find it.

You don't want them to fall out because they will descend into the abyss, never to be seen again. :-(

Every visible nut, bolt and screw on my TF is the correct type but many are stainless steel. I was able to buy everything I needed from Spalding Fasteners and they cost pence. I don't know if they ship overseas though. As an aside they were the only supplier I could find for brass, raised head, countersunk, slotted wood screws for the door handles an finger plates in our Victorian house.
