MG TD TF 1500 - windshield wiper blade insert question

The replacement of the wiper blades is being performed for the first time. How do the little rubber triangle shaped plugs insert? Any particular way? Direction they should be facing?
Thanks, Rich '52 TD

Here you go.

Any suggestions as to how to get the rubber plug through the appropriate hole? I was able to secure one wiper blade, but the other is barely able to get through the opening. Shave it down? I tried soap but makes it hard to handle.
Richard Olson

liquid soap and twist them in. I then pulled on the tip with a pair off needle nose plyers working side to side until seated.

Wiggle them in as Bill says. Once you have a little sticking through grab it and twist back and forth. I find WD40 slicker than soap or Armoral is good too.

Whatever it takes. One was shaped very nice and with a little persuasion was seated. The other was a blunt fat rubber plug and after trying everything, even Moss sending me another, (it was as fat and blunt as the one I could not get into place) it looks like one will be in place the other not. Pulling though the hole doesn't work since I cannot, with WD40, soap, twisting, etc, get it far enough in to grab it.
Does anyone have a better source for these tedious little rubber bits?
Richard Olson

If you have a shop grinder reshape it a bit

Have ordered 4 more hoping one will work.
