MG TD TF 1500 - Wiper motor question

In the last week I have viewed online, 2 TD owners posting videos of their cars with the wiper motors mounted upside down. I also have a friend in our british car club who has a TD Mark II and his is mounted upside down and has been for over 2 years. Is this now the cool trend for TD owners?

The motors are mounted upside down so the the casing sits below the windscreen frame.

This is the correct way in which the writing is upside down.

What I mean is they are mounted ncorrectly, with the bulk of the motor plqaced ABOVE the windshield, which is odd. In the case of my friend, whoever had the car before him, they even had a convertible top made with a pocket to accomodate the "upside down" mounted windshied wiper motor!

R.A., I think you'll find that the inverted wiper motor was the action of a TD (or TC) owner trying to mollify the complaints of a passenger (other half, perhaps) who saw the motor as the Ralph Nader'ish safety hazard that it is. It's not at all a 'cool trend'. Bud
