MG TD TF 1500 - Wrong carbs
Help , don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I can’t get comments printed . I’ll try again . I just want to know if The H9 carbs fitted to my TD are original or is this is why it runs rich and never needs choke. |

They should be H2, I have never heard of an H9 They would be massive, any chance of pictures. Ray TF2884 |

Some Jaguars use an HD6, never heard of a number high as an H9! But I'm not a carb Guru either. PJ |

There are even H8 carbs on Jaguar, 2” or 1 and 8/8ths of an inch. Peter |

Thanks for the offer Ray but I seem to have a camera fault . The carbs look original H2 but have no insulation gaskets but are stamped H9 so maybe they have been messed with . |

Gss If the stamping is on the mounting flange, which I'm suspecting it is, it's an alpha/numeric dating code -H9---September 1952 Being a later 52 model TD your car is most likely a TD2 which would have 1 1/2"---H4 carburetors Cheers willy |

Gss About your pics Just in case you're not aware of how the site works After you've loaded your images on , although you have pressed the submit button doing that, you still have to go down below the comment box and submit them and whatever you've written in comments Cheers willy Best results if your pics are under 400KB (email size), they load up nice and quick |

Thanks Willy . Yes you’re right , they are stamped on the mounting flanges and the car is registered late 52 . |
