MG TD TF 1500 - XPAG Rocker shaft bushing clearance
Anyone have a spec for rocker shaft bushing clearances? I couldn't find one in the WSM... Regards Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |

NO sideways movement. Hone the bushings until the rocker is tight on the new shaft, and you will be fine. Be sure to install the new shaft with the proper orientation, or you will get NO oil to the newly-refurbished rockers... Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Bill, just send the assembly to Rocker Arm Specialties, http://www.rockerarms.com/pages/about.html Very reasonable charge to totally rebuild the rocker arm system. I was amazed at the effect their work had upon my idling oil pressure. Bud |

Bud I have a new set of roller tip rockers from Len I bought a new rocker shaft and they are simply too tight. I just needed an Idea of the clearance needs to be when I ream them. I can't find any info. I called Len this AM and didn't get a response to my inquiry. I will call them tomorrow. They are about 100 miles north of Sacramento. Thanks Tom re the shaft orientation. I watched a video I bought put out by the NETReg with George and Peter Edney on XPAG teardown/rebuilding and that was mentioned in the video. Regards Bill Chasser jr TD4834 |
