Triumph TR3 - Door Pulls
Hello all: I'm looking for early interior door pulls. These are exposed type used on the TR2's and early TR3's. They are unavailable from Moss or The Roadster Factory here in the states. Given the parts that have been re-manufactured in recent years, it's odd that these aren't readily available... Thanks for any suggestions, Mike |

Hi Mike: Why don't you just make them up out of bicycle brake cables. That's what I did for the ones for my '58 3A. |

I've been thinking about it... But if I do, I'll probably get into the details and make nice finisher ends, cloth covers, etc. Didn't want to spend that kind of time right now but I was curious as to what might be out there. |

Hi Mike, I have gone through this project before but perhaps not on this site. I made the pulls for my TR2 but I was lucky enough to have the finishers for the top end as well as the cover plates for the latch. The cover plates could be manufactured but the top finishers might be a bit tougher. Let me know if I can be of any help on a personal e-mail. The covers for the pulls are of matching interior material. Brian |

I'd call Triumphs Only in California. They seem to be farther into rebuilding and finding rare parts than anyone else. Or maybe other British cars used the same fittings? This happens a lot, sometimes parts from an MG or Healey or Wolseley or Metropolitan or who knows what all might be the same, or similar enough to get you by until the real thing comes along. |

Thanks guys. I have some funky cabinet knobs screwed into the latch cover right now. They work, but a proper fix is in order - although it is amusing to watch my friends try and get out of the car. Mike |
