Triumph TR3 - interior redo

Which of the big guys is providing the best interior materials (TRF, VB, MOSS)?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking tan instead of my current black but concerned about how good the carpet, leather and vinyl will match.

Donnie,
I installed a Tan interior from TRF. I got the carpet, seat kit (leather) tonneau rails (dash capping, door capping and doglegs in leather and rear capping in vinyl), dash in vinyl, and door panels and rear panels and wheel well covers. I also got a top, tonneau cover and hood rail cover in tan and had TRF recover the side curtains in tan. TRF uses the white piping as in the originals for the seats and rear cover and the rear wheel well covers and the rear seat. In other words, I got the entire interior and weather equipment from TRF and was very pleased with the quality and the dye match. It was a lot of work but worth it.

Don,

Installed Moss leather seat kit red with white piping looks great. Installed Moss black loop curl carpet looks good and fits well. Car originally red loop curl but the Moss red replacement backing showed through alot and I did not like the look. It also became an easy choice because Moss back ordered the loop curl red carpet at that time so I went all black loop curl. Now, the fun part...I traced out the original panels and cut new panels out of 1/8 inch masonite type material and recovered all the door panels, dash, rear fender wells, and coping myself. I purchased rolls of a thicker than original red vinyl which matched the seat colors from Moss at a local shop specializing in seat recovering, boat tops, etc. I did have a pro sew the white piping to the red vinyl for the fender wells. Took her about five minutes while I was waiting and she didn't even charge me. Everything came out great except for the rear rails due to the extreme curve and thickness of the fabric I was using I got a kink in one of them. When I get around to redoing it I was told to heat the vinyl while stretching it over the rail. Wish I knew that trick when I recovered the dash and dash coping I think my thumbs became permanently damaged from all the pulling and stretching I was doing to try and get it to fit tight.

Ask for samples and availability from all and then find out whats available. Nothing worse than being delayed when one or more items becomes unavailable, currently out of stock, or back ordered.

sorry for the wordiness.

I used black vinyl from VB for the instument panel, wheel wells, and rails. Had a local upholstery shop install it. Looks great. Bought black loop carpet and padding from Whitney. Used contact cement to stick padding to carpet and carpet to metal where appropriate. Very inexpensive. Very time consuming to cut all the holes and install clips. Installed it myself after the upholstery shop put edging on all the pieces. Got carpet clips from TRF. Used old carpets for patterns where I could. Used VB black vinyl over new masonite for the doors and for the door rails. Padded with cotton and glued padding and vinyl with contact cement. Used old fiber boards as patterns and installed new rivets and hardware in original hole locations. Went up a size for some of the screws that hold the door panels in place buying new hardware from the local hardware store. Got furflex from VB. Used sculpted wooden dowel in 1/4 panel at B posts. Took several months last winter in a heated shop.
Good luck!

I just ordered the Moss Honey Tan interior panels and leather seat kit for the TR-3A, partially because I want that color, partially because I wholesale Moss parts, and mostly because Moss has provided quality stuff to sell to others so I definitely want it in MY car.

I'm on the same hunt. Does anyone have pictures of a completed Moss kit and a completed VB kit maybe even comparisons of the Deluxe Kit from VB vs the OE Kit?
