Triumph TR5 - TR250/PI

Hello, im the new owner of a TR 250 with a lucas fuel injection system. The car is currently on triple webbers but they are not part of the deal, they are just to show me that the car does indeed run!. The previous owner is throwing in the original strombergs ( in need of repair/overhaul) but im really interested in getting the P.I. system working on this car. Anybody out there have any experience/ideas/parts suppliers etc for the lucas system? Any and all help would be much appreciated!

cheers,
Mitch

Unless the cylinder head has been changed to the PI head or to a later carb model head, the port spacing on a TR250 or early TR6 will not allow that PI manifold to be properly fitted. I would suggest getting clarification from the seller on what sort of cylinder head is on the car before proceeding with the PI. As far as PI parts go, there are very few PI cars in the USA/Canada market as they were only sold here with the Strombergs. Best bets that I can think of would be Roadster Factory as the owner has a couple of PI cars, then you start going overseas with outfits such as Rimmer Bros., Moss Europe, Revington TR, etc.

Thanks for the reply Steve, yes this is not a "narrow port" head on the car, so the manifolds should fit.
I am most interested in having the metering unit looked at/overhauled without having to send it away to England.
But i will try to get in touch with the Roadster Factory guy, and see what direction he can point me in.....
thanks again,

Mitch

Not a very active site is it?

Since they are the same under the skin, the action is really on the TR6 page except for the most specific of TR5/250 items.

Ok, cheers Steve, I will give that a try as well.
