Triumph TR6 - 345:1 ring and pinion
Hi, I am considering a change from my stock 370 gearing. Does anyone have experience with this ?? Costs , suppliers other than Moss, and down time. Thanks for the help. Graham |

Graham, I have that place, but it is hi-perf. and price might be high. Bye, JGC http://www.quaifeusa.com/differentials/diff_apps.htm |

The Quaife unit is the internal differential bits and does not include the gear set, housing etc. That is why they have a single part number offfering to cover that wide range of TR series (plus the Stag). You may want to consider one of Richard Good's Nissan differential kits that employ one of the R200 series of rear end assemblies with viscous limited slip. One of the ratio offerings is 3.54:1. I have installed one of the 3.69:1 units and must say that it is a well thought out conversion, dealing with Mr. Good has been first rate every time I have purchased some of his wares. Just remember that some speedo-odometer correction will be in order, but then that is what ratioed speedo drives are all about. http://www.goodparts.com/parts_diff.html |

Graham, I have that suggestion, but it is not purely TR6 solution. http://www.goodparts.com/parts_diff.html And you could have good rebuilt differential at many places. The roadster factory is one on them. JGC |

Graham 3.45 was the standard diff ratio of the PI TR6s in the UK, you should be able to buy the gears from any UK supplier of TR6 parts, it is a better ratio than 3.7. Ron |
