Triumph TR6 - A Blokes Lottery
CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS? YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT! True story... Imagine you're going to live in Portugal. You find a lovely farmhouse set on a decent plot of land. The place has been empty for 15 years... While exploring your new property you find a large barn. The door is padlocked and welded shut and it's all rusted solid. So you grind the padlock and the welds off and, .. BINGO! http://www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm |

Image #43 has a red Triumph TR-4. I wonder if these cars have titles or could they be stolen???? How could anyone misplace so many cars? I'd like to hear some responses... Benji |
I wish I lived in |
Here you go, a partial list: http://www.sportscarmarket.com/portugesebarnfind.pdf We were talking about this one at work and did a little digging around on it. While the pictures are correct regarding the cars and the building was indeed "sealed," the story that goes with it is not correct, still a good story though, wouldn't it be nice if that were to happen to one of us..... One of the guys from Sports Car Market chased down the photographer and found out the owner of the building was a car dealer that stashed them in there eventually filling the building. The building was unsealed and the photographer had been hired to document the collection. In a way it kind of reminds me of Aggie Pate's collection in Cresson (aka Whiskey Flats) TX. I don't think he really kept all those cars with museum intent, he just liked the cars and wanted to keep them. Since he had a musuem with aircraft and naval items, putting the cars on display just sort of happened and eventually became the bigger draw. |

Benji, I think there was a TR4 in there..?? |

Steve, It is no surprise you were behind this research. (library incident) Thanks for bursting our bubble and dream of hopping that one day there could be a actual barn yard find. At any rate folks ....still a great looking collection. |

It does look cool but do you think any of those cars had anything done to them before being put to sleep? Can you imagine all the gas tanks that need to be drained, brakes that are siezed up and dried up tires that have flat spots on them? Tom C |
