Triumph TR6 - a survey for my business...

if you please Gentle Geese,

I've found a source for New Old Stock, unmounted, never run, 175 CD Strombergs that are correct for our cars.

I also found that the same source has a supply of NOS 150 CD Strombergs for Spits and the like.

My question is this:

Is there an interest in such carburetors. I would have to 'retail' them at about $275 for a pair or $150 each. The buyer would have to switch over their linkage, of course, since they are 'generic' 175 CD carbs. The needles would, doubtless, need adjusting since, again, they are new.

The Spitfire ones would be $150 each as well. I know that we see carbs on Ebay from time to time but this would be more of a sure supply it appears.

Thoughts? I thank you in advance and hope nobody takes offense at this blatant, capitalistic posting.

Honk.

Thanks Gene,

I think I am but haven't been there since joining here.

I'll give it a look.

How old are they would be concerned with rubber components aging?

Interesting.

Jim, I don't want to figure out anything new on carbs! It took you yankees long enough to walk me through adjusting the ones I have!

By the way, we went through a week of highs in the 80's, and it finally broke a bit. That is too warm for this time of year!

That was one of my concerns Bill but after taking a 150 apart I'm pleasantly surprised.

They are quite nice actually. Besides, kitting them just ain't that big a deal.

I'm ignoring John's comments. Both of them. <G>
