Triumph TR6 - an open message to all non members...

Good day one and all,

I'd like to make it clear to the non-members of the BBS that joining is:

1. Free.

2. An advantage since you can then search the archives for the pearls of wisdom from those who are beginners, amateurs, professionals, and, most of all....

The Goose (the all knowing)

To join, log out. Go to:
http://www.british-cars.co.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=tr

There you see instructions for joining up.

hope this helps,

Jim
Jim Deatsch

And if you don't join up, Jim's going to send the goose a knocking. He is one tough bird!!!! The goose, not Jim.
Doug Campbell

That was a hell of a long cruise you took, Jim!
Welcome back.

John.

Doug
Jim (AKA the goose man)is such a devious person he would send a flock flying over your TR6 and you know what flying birds tend to do.

Thanks Jim..once and for all it is been posted on the how tos of life.

I have registered twice, and I am still showing up as a non-member. I can search the archives which you said was a prerequisite for membership. Any suggestions?
Bill Kinney

Interesting Bill.

I can only tell you how to do it not why it doesn't work.

Unless you aren't coming onto the BBS from your 'logged in' site. If you continue to log in to the site from the normal, start page then you will have to 'log in' with name and password.

If you log in to the page that was 'given' you when you joined up then you'll be good to go.

For example:

http://www.british-cars.co.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=tr&a=&mode=home

where "XXXXXXXXXXXXX" is a number assigned only to me and tells the server that it's ME and I don't have to 'log in'. All the registered members have this.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you John. I had to go SOMEWHERE warm.

Is that invite to the couch still open? <G>

I guess I have jumped on your band wagon goose man but I will still keep my reostat pet peeve going:)
Non members just have no idea what is in the Archives. Simply, if you can think up a question, it has been answered.
I am not suggesting that questions not be asked. There are many little things that are unique to our LBCs. An quite frankly, I enjoy helping others in this fraternal brotherhood. I am not an expert. there are many guys on this BBS with much more automotive experience than I or is it me.....geeessss where is Hilary when I need help with my grammer (sorry just a little fun from the archives).
I hope I have not offended anyone..not my intention. Just trying to be helpfull.
Rick C
PS Jim, this thread needs to be kept "current" for all to see...sure would not want it to get lost in the Archives or fly south and never come home:)
Rick Crawford

Jeesh, *I'M* offensive, errrr... offended, how's that go again?

The Goose just think it's fair for non-members not being able to take advantage of the WEALTH of knowledge he has at his webfoottips.

So folks, if you're not hooked up, get so. You'll love the ride.
