Triumph TR6 - Anybody know what this is?
Trying to source the rubber mounts. Its from a "J" type OD in my 250. Might be MGB? TR4? Ford Fairlane???? ![]() |

Mitch not sure if you are asking or telling us what they are. I think asking..soooo they look like the rear side of the dif mounting rubbers but missing the beveled piece of rubber on the other side of the metal mounting plate. But then I see bolts going through bolt holes so maybe I am wrong. They do not look like the mounting rubbers for a j type though. Your image makes them look like they are mounted to something. Could you take another image from slightly above? Are they attached to something? Rick |

Mitch, Those look like late (75-80) MGB engine mounts. It's hard to tell from your photo, but if they are from a B, the threaded stud will be off-center. Tom |

Rick, yes im asking what the rubber mounts are from. The PO made a home made mount to adapt the J type to a 250 frame, and im just trying to find out what he used for the rubber mounts. I will post another pic when i get home tonight or tomrorrow........ |

Mitch Now I understand that they are attached. They definitely both look like half of each side of the back end of the dif mount for a TR6. Take the rubber and the 2 holed plate add a similar rubber piece to the other side of the plate add a bevel to that piece of rubber and you have one of 2 back side dif mount assemblies. Most TR6s use the urethane bushing instead of the rubber these days. That is one way of building a mount I suppose. Your 250 frame should accept the REAL assembly for mounting a J type OD. You might have to drill a hole or 2 and that is it. Rick |

Thanks for the info Rick, I have a set of new diff mounts in the package, i will dig them out and see if that is what they are. So, where would a guy look for a REAL assembly for the OD/Mount?? I dont want to butcher the frame up, but i could handle drilling a couple of holes. cheers, Mitch |

Nope, not diff mounts. There is a stud in the centre of each of these mounts, bonded inside of it. I will try another shot of it... ![]() |

Mitch Those are dif mounts. A normal dif mount has the metal plate (with the 2 holes) sandwitched between 2 large pieces of rubber. Like I said, yours are missing one of the pieces of rubber. One of the big suppliers can sell yhou the real (correct) mount for a J type. PS....your bonding is a healthy amount of rust. Rick |

Well, I know what they are not. Still dont know what they are though.
