Triumph TR6 - Anybody Looking for a Project?
If you are looking for project and want a challenge, here you go: http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/2855779984.html I loved the bit about "and was cut free of a pine tree and was saved from the woods(as you can see :)." |

Steve, I doubt that there's $500 worth of parts salvageable left on this poor excuse for a "excellent condition" TR6. Too bad someone did not rescue it 25 years ago. Since it's a 71 though...someone on this list may like to have it. Rick??? Don??? I'd like to have the brass tags from the ZSCD175's if still on it!! db |
Doug Baker |
Doug, My one remaining tag is for sale... 1 caveat, you have to buy both carbs with it! |
Don Kelly |
I think the seller needs to check the dictionary for the definition of "good". Mine was in better shape when I started and I would say it was in terrible shape. And with all the missing parts I doubt restoration will be cheap. Too bad this wasn't pointed out earlier. I was in Savannah at the beginning of Feb and drove back up 95. Could have stopped in a taken a peak. |
Michael Petryschuk |
Geez Mike, would have had you check up on my college girl while you were there. Gotta keep an eye on her. As we speak she is an hour and a half from Seattle on the big bird . |
Don Kelly |
Don, those two little tags are the ONLY parts that I have been unable to source. I have one, but it's mangled so if your is L, it'd be in a better home for you to send it to me! I have a few odd tags including some aluminum ones I've gathered from kind souls wishing to help me out, but not having the right tags!! What I need should be numbered 3385L, 3385R!! db |
Doug Baker |
3365 F, maybe an R but I thought they were Front and Back |
Don Kelly |
Don, the C3365 are from 1970 production. The alpha code is L and R for left (rear carb) and right (for front Carb) when viewed from the curb side of the car. If I recall correctly your -6 (CC58660) was producted in Nov 1970 for the 1971 model year, but should have had the 3385 carb ID. db |
Doug Baker |
Remember, those early 71's had a lot of 70 stuff on em |
Don Kelly |
Oh well. There goes another potential source!! Rod, if you're lurking, go look in the attic again!! db |
Doug Baker |
Why don't you just have them made? |
Don Kelly |
Hey Don Is she in Savannah or nearby? |
Michael Petryschuk |
She going to school at SCAD and her dorm is in the historic district. She's a Visual Arts major. Here is her first VA project final 8 seconds and 180 frames http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NRLxl-7bncg |
Don Kelly |
Don, Probably my best solution. Been looking for a shop to take it on. Appears that a local "trophy" shop may be able to do it. Will advise. May be others who need these little tidbits!! db |

Very impressive video Don. |

I got the project thing going right now.....! Finally! ![]() |
Rod Nichols |
Rod, Looks like a major effort. Finishing up my Carbs then only the peripherals like starter and alternator and my engine's done!!! Began removing the tub from the frame last night!! Progress!! Here's one of the carbs before final reassembly. db ![]() |
