Triumph TR6 - ATDI

Who all is going to the ATDI held in Olympia WA. I am meeting (sans car) Rod who is trailering his 6(questionable engine) there. Anybody else? Barry?

DON KELLY

Don-I won't make the ATDI this year as I have visiting relatives to entertain this weekend. On the fun factor scale, it is somewhere between a root canal and a prostate exam by a Dr. with large cold hands. I probably be at the AFBM for the Sun. swap meet.

Will probable be at that also. Will talk to Rod and check his plans, but I doubt as he will be in Olympia.

Don,
You are correct.....I won't be at the ABFM Portland. This was a painful decision, but I can't see trailering the car 800-1000 mile round trip. ATDI was already paid for, PLUS our son lives there, so that trip was gonna happen no matter what. Two friends from the Boise area took cars, a 55 TR2 (driven) and a 72 TR6 (trailered due to health problems...owner, not the car) I still chuckle that the 'old' car made it there and back and the 'younger' cars were trailered. ******Don Elliot, jump in here anywhere!*****
My excuse for towing: the motor was pulled out of a salvage yard 2 years ago, as an interim solution, ran so good (til now) I forgot it's real purpose! I'll go exploring in the next week or two, but the general opinion is a small end bushing on a connecting rod????? I'm in denial, hoping for valve train issues. It's a light 'knock' or 'rattle' 2500 to 3000 rpm after reaching operating temps, only under load.
Good news: The car took a third in class! I got to spend a weekend with my son! I'm not complaining. I was with a bunch of TR buddys! I'll send Charlie Ballard a picture of what a well stocked TR6 trunk (OK...BOOT!) looks like.....
and happy moToRing!
