Triumph TR6 - BMW M3 - TR6

For anyone interested in putting a BMW M3 engine in a TR6, check this out.

Also of interest are the rear telescopic shock brackets and the rear disc brake conversion.

Those rear disc brackets look rather familiar. I had been curious as to how the rest of the drivetrain and chassis looked once I found out a little more about the car they were going on.

Roger.

Thanks for sharing the link. I guess that since BMW manufacture the Mini and that the own the name Triumph, then we must have evolved back to BL, and that BMW now stands for British Motor Works.

Hello,

Real nice set-up, but the CV shaft is impressive. I would like to know how it was done.

Les,

A good one..

The rear axles are courtesy of Kevin at www.cvaxles.com

I looked hard at the offerings from Moss UK but they could not verify HP capability plus they were simply too costly to import. Another TR enthusiast tipped me off to Kevin. This guy supports the high performance industry especially making custom axles for "drift cars". I told him what I was creating and what I needed. $1500 later, I had these show up on my door step. Haven't tried them out yet but all looks as they will be perfect and fit is exactly as spec'd. Plus he stands behind his product 100% and will remedy any issues with fit if not correct.

Price really isn't all that bad when you look into completely rebuilding the stock set-up.

Dave, good to see you chime in on this. Very nice looking piece of work that you've got there.

Dave, a sweet sweet car. Might even trade in my V8 for that M3. Very nice set up. It must sound beautiful.
I'll meet you at the salt flats in a couple years.

I didn't know who I was writing to, but I asked a question at cvaxles dot com, and Kevin replied. Real nice reply and thorough. High class always shines through and is remembered! Kudos to cvaxles.

Hey catrace, you should get yourself a driver to keep you on the road while your baby is on the mend.
