Triumph TR6 - Brake Warning Lite Switch

Does anyone happen to know where I might get the plastic connector that hooks up to the Brake warning light switch in the engine on a 73 TR6? The previous owner snipped the wire right at the connector so there is no way to splice a new wire in. I looked in Moss and Factory Roadster and Victoria British and I didn't see it. Thanks

I don't no if this is any use to you, or if your part supplier gets any parts from the U.K., but at Rimmer Brothers they have the part. See next link

Big supplier with good pictures of the parts,

There is a reason the previous owner snipped the wire, too. Sorry if this is something you already are aware of. From reading articles on the net, I've learned of the switch and its function. Your friends here with experience inside these will tell you how to make the light go out once you get it working again.

Thanks for the tip but I was looking for the electrical connector that clips onto the brake warning switch. Looks like the only way to get it is to buy the wiring harness.that

Yes I think I know what you are talking about Tom. If you bleed the brakes the lite will come on and you need to reset the sensor. Maybe the previous owner didn't know about this and cut the wire as a way of turning the light out.

JW--Have you tried to drive the connector out of it's socket?

Yup light comes on if not recentered..you got it.

I am going back a few years here so bear with me:) My son had a 90s compact pickup truck Ford or GM ...sorry just can not recall. It used exactly the same plastic screw in piece. Maybe taking the piece to a wrecher might be of use to you.

Failing that, The little metal piece inside the plastic housing is a double connector ( deJaVo here)
0___0 This is the closest I can "draw it":) A pair of needle nose pliers should be able to pull the "cut" wire and its connector out. Go to an electronis supply place and get a new connector and crimp it on to the wire. The wire "hood" piece is probably gone so just put the DG to it.

Thank you Rick. I guess that is what I'm gonna have to do. Thanks to all the responded.

fyi I'm told that this is one of the few parts that are no longer available. I guess they figure brakes (stoppping) are less important than stickers and cosmetics (looking good)? When I installed my new harness, it came with two wires/connectors - no plug. Like Rick mentioned, I pulled the old wiring/connectors right out of the rubber plug and jambed the new wires back in. A little heat made it quite easy.
