DON KELLY

Pretty good Don! Looks like we got your man. I work for him now. Only I'm waaay down on the bottom of the food chain.

Henry

HP Henry Patterson

you got a good guy. My said he was a genuine person. They will miss him here.
DON KELLY

Are you guys all on the same subject or am I missing something here?
Rick C
Rick Crawford

that was suppose to be "my wife"
DON KELLY

OK Rick....I'll let you in on it.

Alan is Alan Mullaly who is now CEO for Ford Motor. He used to be the big cheese at Boeing out in Don's neck of the woods.

Just make sure you let us in on some of those Canadian discussions we don't understand. Such as.. Is there really an Elsinore beer? It's things like that we need to know.

Henry
HP Henry Patterson

Henry and Don
Well now the conversation makes sense.
Henry no problem one keeping you up to speed but on this Elsinore beer thing...well sorry lad not in Canader.
Rick C
Rick Crawford

Rick,

What's this I hear about getting a free case of Elsinore if you find a mouse in a bottle, eh? It would make a great plot variation on an old play.
SteveP

Come on you guys.
If I told you there was actually an Elsinore beer up here in Canader EH, then yous guys would want take us over so you could have it.
Steve, I can honestly say: I have never found a mouse in my Elsinore beer.
Gotta go, The wife is calling me for my back bacon EH
Gooday EH.

Rick C

Rick Crawford

I am now starting to get convinced from all my American friends. That indeed I live in a igloo, and I drive a team of huskies to work everyday, and our "President" is Wayne Gretzky and not to mention all we think about (or "aboot") is hockey and beer (not in that order) Lastly, we are now going to pronounce the letter "Z" Zee and not Zed.

(Trading in my leaf for the stars and stripes)
Marcello

Marcello,
You will not convince me to say ZEE. After all, we say it correctly....ZED.
And it is ROOF not RUUF.

Besides, what would you rather have fun with...a beaver or a bald eagle?
Rick C
Rick Crawford

Woooee, careful ther Mr. Rick,A mite too colorful
DON KELLY

It's definately Zee. For sure Roof not ruuf. It's also Process not Proe-cess.

How about "Crappy Tire"? Did you ever let us in on that?

Really though I'm sure glad we have Canada as our neighbor. You have a great country... and good beer too.

BTW.. Thanks for giving us Tim Horton. Good donuts Eh?
HP Henry Patterson

Marcello,

Have you heard Jim Carry's shtick about what he say's when he tells people he's from Canada...And they say 'Wow! sure must be cold up there'. He goes on about the very things you mentioned. Very funny!

Henry
HP Henry Patterson

Henry
Not sure why Crappy tire ( Canadian Tire Corp.) never went south of the border. The stores up here are the size of your typical big box. It is like a days outing going through the tool section. Every warm blooded male up here in Canada knows what I am talking about.
Tim Hortons...best coffee in the world.

It must have been during the war of independence that you chaps decided to say ZEE instead of ZED.

Rick C
Rick Crawford

You guys don't know what Good Coffee is!!!
DON KELLY

Don,
I spent a good part of my life living in the beautiful US of A. (Wash DC). I can honestly say that Krispy Kreme and Dunking Donuts does not come close to our beloved Timmie's. So great is it that it is now American owned.

Rick,
CTC did make a stab at the USA market many years ago and flopped. It went in under the name "The White" store (I think) but with the Pep Boys and all the Napa type stores it didn't do well.

Bottom line folks, other then this thread going way over the the out field of the title, we love our neighbours to the south even though we Canucks are so mis-understood.
Marcello

oops Dunkin not dunking,..lol
Marcello

I know Mr Kelly is refering to Starbucks since WA is home state of said coffee shop. Sorry Don, Timmies is better.
Marcello, in the out field....it has left the stadium!
Rick C
Rick Crawford

Right you are, Rick. I was going to reply to Mr. Kelly by saying that we may not know what good coffee is, but we have Starbucks, so we know what bad coffee is. But that would be impolite, and us Canucks aren't like that, so I didn't.

By the way, if you guys like Canadian Tire, you should try Princess Auto some time.

Tony
Tony Koschinsky

I'm not sure Don is referring to Starbuck's. There are better coffee's in Seattle. I know. He sent me some. You're right Don good stuff.

How about we meet for an Elsinore guys..Ha Ha..

Henry
HP Henry Patterson

I don't waste our water on Starbucks. They over cook the beans. 30 years ago it was a nice cup of joe. Now over commercialized and price.
DON KELLY

Tony
Yes Princess Auto is another "spend half a day in" store. They are just not a plentiful as Crappy tire so only get to go into one when I go to Barrie or Toronto.
I thought you where talking about Starbucks Don.
Rick C
Rick Crawford

Rick,
Large Princess Auto in Brampton. Dixie south of Derry.

Coffee:
The claims WA has to be proud of is grunge music, Jimmy Hendrix, a boat community but not coffee. Coffee shops maybe but not the bean. Show me a bean farm anywhere in Seattle and I will eat crow.

But nothing in the world beats the feeling and taste of a Timmie's in a musty old hockey arena in the dead of January. I say that beats hanging around a coffee shop in Seattle hearing poetry or aspiring folk music.
My opinion.
Marcello

Guys,
When I am up north, I always take a stop at a CTC as they are a customer of ours. What I love is the the great assortment of sh*t kickers (winter boots) at reasonable prices. I think they stopped selling seal pelts some time ago though.
TC
Tom C

Tom,
If you like CTC's sh*t Kickers, you would really love the other store they own, with a massive assortment of that stuff. "Marks Work Warehouse" has more variety and great outdoor clothing.
Marcello

Marcello
Been in that one many times:) and the old store down the road.
Rick C
Rick Crawford

What ever happened to the original topic on this post?
DON KELLY

Currently heading south with the goose Don.
