Triumph TR6 - Carpets
Ok, I know this is going to be a silly question, anyway, how do I stick/adhere the carpets for my '74TR6 in place? Screws? Velcro? |

Frank On mine the floor carpets are held down with press studs, the carpets on the gearbox cover and tunnel are mainly fixed by gravity and a small amount of adhesive and the rest are stuck down with impact adhesive. Ron |

Frank, On my 75 they are like Ron's..attached to the floor with the snap rings. I attached the carpet to the gearbox cover the same way and glued to the "box" behind the seats. The snaps are easliy found in Home Depot / Crappy Tire etc. Charlie |

Frank Like everyone says: The only part(s) that gets glued down is the transmission tunnel(s) and the rear shelf area. To be specific on answering your question. 3M general trim spray adhesive (in a spray can...do as directions say on the can). There are special "snaps" available (as in OE) that "disappear" when attached to the carpet. Available from all LBC suppliers locally. You typical dome and snaps used for the soft top will not work on carpet...IMHO. They are like Charlie says.."snap rings". The ring is about 1" in diameter. Charlie, I still havent put in the floor carpet yet. Would you happen to know the size of the snaps? I don't have the old carpet anymore (dang it) and didn't bother keeping the old female snaps. If Home Depot has 'em, I'm back in business. Don |

That would be interesting to hear if Home Depot carries the OE style carpet snaps. Probably half the price I paid for my LBC supplier price! Rick C |
