Triumph TR6 - Chroming Services in NY

Does anyone know someone/business that does rechroming in the NY area? I need to have my bumpers rechromed.

Thanks

Ha gooseman....your neck of the woods...assuming we are talking the state and not the city.

Yes the state of NY. The Albany area

Yup...gooseman territory. You are just down the road from him...but then, I think you know this Jerry.
Did you go get yourself a click-adjust?

Jerry,
Don't know what might be available to you locally, but fyi, I just yesterday had delivered to a rechrome shop in Elizabethton TN both my bumpers for my 71 TR6. Estimated price for triple plating with a lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser of $280/per bumper or $560 for the lot plus shipping costs back to me. This is compared to ~$900 estimate I got from a shop in Florence Alabama. The company in TN is TriCity Plating, website: www.tricityplating.com Phone: 1-800-251-7536. You can ship your bumpers to them, they'll rechrome and UPS back. They estimated a 10 week turnaround for this time of year. Usual is 2-3 weeks. They chose not to address rechroming my gas cap; they specialize in bumpers. I'll have to find another source for that or live with it the way it is. FWIW.

Yes Rick I bought the click adjust. Haven't had a chance to try it yet though.

DB, Moss sells the whole new front bumper for apprx 320 dollars I think.

Guys,

Actually JW and I are about 3 hours apart. I know of one place that does larger pieces JW.

Finger Lakes Plating in Avon, NY. About 3.5 hours from you. They are in the phone book but don't expect your bumpers back any time soon. The current delay I'm told is 2-3 MONTHS. Expect to pay about $300 each.

I suspect that the bumper you're seeing from Moss is a repop that is QUITE thin compared to the one you have now.

Jim
