Triumph TR6 - Convert to twin SUs.
Following the Stromberg needle question yesterday morning, I decided to convert to SUs. One Friday afternoon later, it's done! All you need is a set or 1 3/4 HIF44/6 carbs from a Rover V8. I happened to have a rebuilt pair and with the aid of some 7/16 all thread and a dab with the MIG welder it was all over. I'll post some photos on my web site asap and drop the link here. Moss quote all the possible needle options for each addition to the engine, so the correct needles can be posted from Burlen. Alastair PS. the Rv8 damper spring is the correct rate too! |

I've uploaded the photos on www.ajmac.co.uk if you click on the TR6. Alastair |

Tried to connect to your site but it did not work. Curious what differences you have noticed on the conversion...mileage?, power? acceleration times etc. Do all the linkages and throtle shafts match up or does it have to be adapted? How did you end up with a Stromberg car over there...a US conversion car? |

I have a pair of HIF6 for sale if anyone is interested. No linkage, just the carbs. JP |

With as many fine people we have from Canada on this site, are there any other cars on the road up there? Or are they all TRs Don K. |

Only in the summer Don do we increase in numbers. But now with the soft top finally attached to the front bar, I can go out and see the changing of the leaves. Rick C |
