Triumph TR6 - Differential Mount Reinforcements

Hi folks

Well it is now June, and I am well behind on my schedule. I hope to have the chassis ready for repair. I intend to reinforce the differential mounts. Has anyone got any templates/drawings that they can share?

I may trade a gift that all 6 owners will enjoy.

Regards

Les

Did you not get CDII?
If you did get it ...dust it off and you will find the template there.
But since Marc beet me to the gun, you owe him a wee gift:)

Perfect timing -- I was just about to contact my favourite garage to see about getting some welding done on the diff supports. I've got what I think is a template for the piece to box in the mounts but it would be nice to know if it's the 'correct' one.

Is there chance someone could send me the 'book of all knowledge' known as CDII? Thanks.
Sean McCafferty

Marc, Rick.

Thanks for the info, and yes I will dust off the CDll, and Rick you are right Marc will receive the wee gift.

Marc

Can you please e-mail your postal address to me, and the wee gift will soon be on the way to you.

Can someone in Ontario send CDll to Sean?

Thanks for the comments, and I did receive your other e-mail. Vol 2 playlist will be out in the Fall, with 10 copies (world wide) due out by Christmas. I may change the image on the disk.

Anyway back to the restoration project, this weekend and I do mean this weekend. I shall be taking the body out of the garage so that I can gain access to the frame. This is to enable me to remove the front gear, engine and gearbox. Any tips (good tips used may win the "tipper" a genuine "Top Down 6 Vol 1 CD" only 10 in the world with only 2 left) to help strip what is left on.

I have made cardboard cut outs of the "box" repair for the diff mount repair. This so that I can show the fabricator of what I need, and to show him how/where it fits on the chassis.

Im off to the UK in August for 3 weeks to see the grandkids, I hope that they enjoy the scavinging trips with me.

What is this "CD II" that people are talking about? Does it have the templates for the diff and templates for the front as well? How does one go about getting this CD?

cheers,

TR250, but I like this TR6 site the best, lots of good info on here.....
Mitch Smith

Is there a 250 site?
DON KELLY

Don,
Yes there is a very good Triumph site, covers all the models ( as this site does ) but there is a very active TR250/TR5 forum.
Maybe I can find the diff templates there............

The CDII everyone refers to is a compilation of
"everything you wanted to know about a TR6" and then some.
Ask the question, answer could be on the CD. The CD was distributed earlier this year and CDI back in...2005? I think. The full version of CDII is DVD size MBs of data. It was generously put up and a members personal WEB site for all to down load but took it off because of a copy right issue with extra information on the disk.

If someone out west would like to get in touch with Mitch and snail mail him a copy???

Rick Crawford

Rick,
Thanks for the info. This CD sounds like something that I would very much like to have. Yes, if someone out west would get intouch with me, i would be more than happy to buy, trade or whatever, to get a copy......

thanks,

Mitch
