Triumph TR6 - Don Elliott

To all members this BBS
I had the following posted to my reverse gear problem but thought it might not be seen by all.

On a more serious note: I got an e-mail from Don Elliott. He has not been feeling right for about 3 months now and says he sleeps about 16 hours a day. He has been in the hospital for most of the latter part of this month. He is going back in to the hospital later this week for more test. It sounds like his hemoglobin count is way low.
I sent Don a get well message.
If you wish to send him a get well, below is his e-mail. Replace the ".at." with proper symbol.

Seems to me that Don would be the kinda guy who could pull to the side of the road and have what he needs in his trunk to give himself a blood transfussion? Don if you're checking in on us, have a speedy recovery, we miss your participation. I had a complete stranger come up to me at Bronte and ask if I knew where they could find you and your car!! Soon you'll have paparazzi to contend with.

I got an "improper format" error when I tried to send a note. OC, replaced the "at".

Never mind - I found I'd left one of the 'dots' in there....

If you need a quart of blood just call .... get well

Get well, Don!

Thanks Rick,

I dropped him a note as well.

Get better Don, we need more ammunition for JL. <G>

Thanks to all who expressed their warm words of kindness for my speedy recovery.

After over 6 weeks of extensive tests in clinics, doctor's offices, and 2 hospitals, I came home last evening. Louise took me out for a haircut this morning and to get my beard trimmed. It's great to be out and about again. But I'm still very weak.
What I have is treatable and within 6 to 12 months (or less, I hope) I should be back in perfect shape. 80 to 90% of people who have what I have live to a useful ripe old age and for the other 10 to 20% means that I'll have to slow down a bit when I feel tired.

Thanks to all

Hey Don

Glad your on the mend even if not running a hundred percent yet.

From what I've known of you in the past few years. If you slow down to the average 20 year olds. Frantic stressed out seeking help pace. I think you should be OK? A bit bored perhaps but OK...:)

Take care and be careful

Ha Don
Glad to hear you got out to get your hair cut and beard trimed:)
I do not know about you but it seems these days (years), I trim the beard more so than the hair....The longer it is, the more I can hide the bald spot:)

I only have one question for you. How do you plan to tell TRusty that she has to slow down a bit also?

Jusy glad to hear you are on the mend.

Don, welcome back. We need your wisdom and experience, so get better fast.

I go for my 2nd dose of chemo starting on Thursday the 4th. There will be enough for 4 days. They will attach a banana pack with the chemo in it - around my waist, plug in the two tiny capillary hoses and send me home. I'll get my winter flu shots at the same time. This should happen every month till the doctors decide otherwise.

Don--Happy you are getting sorted out; we've missed you here. That wouldn't be a Lucas chemo injector would it? ;)
