Triumph TR6 - Door Panels
Installed a set of door panels from obsolete auto. They look great, to bad my fingers don't, alot of faces made to fit clips in.Any suggestions where to get more clips? |

Brian How is the little red car? Call Fred at British auto sport, Mississauga. Those clips have to aligned just perfect to pop them in. I found a rubber mallet worked OK once they where aligned with the hole. I found some of the pre drilled clip locations not to be so perfectly located. Rick C |

She is doing fine, tucked away in garage. Looking at getting seats done next. |

Brian Do the seats yourself. After you take them apart, you might find a new foam set is in order. For sure replace the seat diaphragm. Keep one seat together so you have it as a pattern to copy while you do the other seat. This is not difficult and kinda a fun learning experience. Rick C |

Hi Brian I agree with Rick. I purchased a complete interior kit from Fred at British Autosports. He brought it in from Victoria British. I did one seat (passenger!) first then the drivers My wife helped with the reassembly it definitly is easier with a little help and beer! I sandblasted the seat frames and tack welded some flat steel springs onto the seat frames below where the rubber diaprhams go. I thought it might give a little more support and hopefully extend the diaphram life. The seat frames looked really nice sprayed black. A friend at our club took his in and had them installed and was not happy at all He then took them to another place and when it was all over he was out 2000 dollars Ouch! Regards John |

Is it cheaper to order from VB or to order from a source up here? Are there comparable canadian suppliers?Any info would be appreciated. |

Brian I purchased a complete interior kit for my 73 MGB directly from VB including seat covers, foams, carpets and door/cockpit panels during their annual Christmas sale when it was reduced $200US. Only problem was the shipping and brokerage costs - I believe that you get the same prices from Fred without these additional fees. I was very pelased with the VB supplied product. One tip I read and used is to put a plastic garbage bag over the seat back before pulling the cover on - stops it grapping on the foam and allows to to slide into position easier. You then have to remove it by destructively pulling it out. Good luck. Barry 75 TR6 |
