Triumph TR6 - Engine color

I'm restoring a 73 TR6 and am looking for the original color of the engine block. Can't seem to find it any where. VTR lists the color of about everything in the engine compartment but the block. Anybody have an answer for me?
Thanks
Don C

Hi Don
As far as I know it should be black

The color of my original 72 block before I pulled it was gloss black. Perhaps to hide the leaks?

Come on Rick....TR6s do not leak.....they just mark their spot.
My opinion is gloss black.

Actually I appreciate the preservative qualities of the oil residue on the undercarriage. But I've got to do something about my severe sealing block leaker!(separate post).
