Triumph TR6 - Engine starved for fuel?

Hi fellow enthusiasts (& masochists)

I have a fuel (or ignition) issue that's taking all the fun out of driving my '70 TR. Car starts up well enough and runs like a kitten for the first 10 mi or so. Then, it starts to break up when I take it to the normal revs of shifting in each gear. I can 'baby' the throttle to keep it running smoothly, but any revs beyond 3K and it shudders and sputters like it's fuel starved.

Now, I think this all started when the car was driven COMPLETELY out of gas. Did I suck in gunk from the tank suc>h that when it's not runnning the fuel bowls fill up, but enough gas can't be delivered fast enough after driving it awhile? That makes sense. It seems like it's getting lots of fuel from the line and the filter shows fuel level normal, but unless it's ignition (I have fairly new electronic one it, I'm thinking it time to take out the tank and blow all the fuel lines?

Any advice out there as to how best to approach this?

Thanks

Change your fuel filter.

Don hit the nail on the head. Fuel filter first then move to the carbs if the filter doesn't fix the problem

90% of fuel problems are ignition problems. You running a pertronix?
