Triumph TR6 - Gas Guage
My fuel gauge all of a sudden does not read accurately. It is stuck on 3/4 when the ignition is activated and does not change irregardless of how much fuel is in the tank. Anyone have any suggestions? Shawn 74.5 |

Hi Shawn I would guess your sending unit (float in the tank) has failed or is stuck. If you disconnect the sending unit and your gauge does change reading then for sure it is your sending unit. If disconnecting the sending unit causes no change on the gauge- then there is a problem with the gauge. |

If ya need a new sender ,buy a ford unit. |

Hello Don, A Ford unit... Could you indicate me what model? Thanks, JG |

Will have to do some digging |

Shawn Has your TEMP gauge also gone bonkers? You could have another problem other than the sending unit. Rick |

it's from any '65-'73 Mustang or Courgar. The part number from Mustangs Unlimited was 240075 |

Sorry, this might help http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/keyword.asp?Keywords=240075&x=5&y=4 |

Thank you Don. A nice replacement... Cheers, Jean G. |

The guage is back in order. The sender unit must have been hung up or something. Filled tank and the guage now reflects what it should. Shawn. |

Don, Your link to the ford unit comes up as a float. Does the ford actually replace the TR sending unit? |

It's the float and rod I think. |
