Triumph TR6 - HardTop Installation
I am in the midst of restoring a hardtop for my 76-6 and need help. Anyone out there how has a hardtop I need some photos/and if possible, instructions or recommendations on the following Windshield Mounts..what they look like, how they work, how to install the bolts Mid point mounts, photos without HT pegs and photos with the HT pegs rear HT mounts...photos and guidance..do folks keep the ST on or remove it to install the HT liner: Anyone with practical expoerience/stories on installing a new liner? also the three trim pieces at the back? lastly..anything else you can think of There is very little literature on the HT (other then a miniscule paper from TRF)..so i guess i will assemble the information and create a guide for the BBS group thanks bob bob.craske@agfa.com |

1 of 3 The top chrome piece on your windshield should have 2 holes that have rubber plugs. You may have 2 holes without the plugs or no holes at all. If you don't have the holes, you need to replace the top chrome piece. From the inside, you need to punch a couple holes in the vinyl for the bolts to go through. This picture shows the 2 bolts with crhome washers. ![]() |

2 of 3 If you can get a soft top boot cover for a hardtop, this is the way it's installed. ![]() |

3 of 3 I'm not including pictures of the 2 rear screw because it's pretty self explanatory except if you keep the soft top installed. If so, you must unscrew the soft top from the rear deck and have it hang down. Here is a picture of the "HT peg" mid mount with the soft top still installed. Hope this helps you out. Benji ![]() |

Hi Bob... you may have all you need from Benji but if there are some q's down the road contact me in mid September. I expect to get my 76 TR6 (with hardtop) out of the restoration shop then and perhaps I can offer some help at that time via photos, etc. Ken. |

Thanks Guys Benji, I need more photos! I am doing this from scratch and detailed photos of the front and mid mounting points, and as obvious as the rear mounts are..a few photos of them too...perhaps mailing to my e mail link direct since there will be a few photos? Rob: I downloaded one article that focused on the actual liner..is that the one your referring to? If not, can you get the article and mail to me Ken Seeing is so much easier..i would like to see it or if your in the Dundas Ont area..maybe you can pop by sometime and we can look the project over? thanks bob |

Bob, I've got a carshow this weekend in Vancouver BC. I'll try to have some picture later next week. Can you be more specific on what picture you need? I'll photograph it and give you explanations and instructions on how I installed it. I know how hard it is to get information on hardtops. Regards, Benji |
