Triumph TR6 - Heater motor

Are the heater motors prone to "stick" in the TR? My 74 had under dash A/C when I bought it 4 years ago and I heard the motor run at that point before I removed it. Now I'm trying to resurrect my heat and no go on the motor working. I've checked the wiring plus ground and still nothing. Is there a way to get up into it and try to spin it by hand or is that asking too much.

JT- you can remove it from the housing and check it.
There is a guy in UK who rebuilds them too

Its a lot of work to remove it JT if the gauges and dash are still in place. You practically have to dismantle the dashboard unless you are double jointed and can get up under it. Even then I don't think there is enough room to separate the housing from firewall. In the earlier models (and I am guessing the 74- I have a 69) there was a resister to give it high and low speed. The connections to the resister on mine were corroded. Cleaning them up restored full function although it is possible the resister is burned out.

Michael...I was afraid I'd have to pull it out of there....I'll wait till I get a new wood dash to pull it since I'll then have to pull the gauges and disturb all the wiring under there. I've put straight 12V to it and put an alternate ground and still no joy so it's inevitable it will have to come out.

JT= I'd figured it was already out or in the process.
So that's why I posted mine

DNK, no worries...if I'd of got it out, it'd be working or in a million pieces wishing it was working! I was just curious if there was a way to stick something up the outlet and get a "spin" on the impeller with something to "un stick" it...I can't see any signs of a fan/blade with my flashlight so it's probably out of reach/sight.
JT White

Whoops, just re-looked at it and sure enough I could easily reach up with a long thin screwdriver and move the fan blade around so it looks like it's an electrical/motor issue.
