You forgot to add this to the pics.

"Quote from owner

Motor is a Pontiac 455 and the turbo is a Garret TV75.
The turbo should pump enough air for about 850HP and even higher torque numbers.
With different heads and a 175HP shot of nitrous ( approx 600HP) the car ran a best 9.99 at 133 MPH in the 1/4
The maiden voyage with the turbo should be this weekend. I do drive the car on the street but I race it at the track."

One thing for sure...the colour of his 6 is right on.
I would love to hear that turbo sing!

As I pointed out to Don, the tyres just aren't right!

Chris, never asked you this question. Have you ever ran the quarter mile in your TRV8?

Don that is fantastic!!! Did you notice the the incredible bodywork done around the intake and turbo?
Just beautifully done, wouldn't you like put that TR6 to the floor?
I'm not much of a computer guy, how could I contact the
owner of that car?
Don did you ever get my reply to your email test?

Rick, this guy would eat me alive , I'ld love to see the frame work he has done.
Three or four years ago now I did some drag races at the Roadster Factory Summer party and I was hitting
in the low 14 sec. mark. Since then I've added some
25-30 HP so if I did it now and was lucky I would sit
in the high 13s. As much fun as drag racing is I
would rather have a good handling road car.
My busy season is over in about three weeks so lets make some plans to go driving together soon.

Rick- Are these tires better?????

Don
That is more like it!
Deffinitely no room in the boot for your overnight bag.

Yup, MYMSTRS is runin' real good since replacing the carb throttle shaft seals. Also with a good engine, I am more often taking her up to 4000+ on gear change.
Most definitely time for a good drive. What is up with Pete? Going to send him an e-mail. For a retired guy, you would think his 6 would be on the road by now.

Rick,

How many miles on your rebuild before you took it up to 4000 RPM? I'm only into 400 miles on my rebuild and I'm not sure if I should hit that high of a rev yet. At least that's what I have been led to believe based on what I've read. Although it doesn't make sense to me... Seems if the rings are seated..and mine are.. then there is no reason to baby it. But I'm playing it safe so far. Runs great though. I had it out the last couple of evening. It's been 90 + deg. and sunny here in beautiful Detroit!!

Henry, I'm seeing 6000 in your future!

Hey Don..

The coffee was great... all gone now.

How's the project coming along?

Wouldn't want to rush things!
DON KELLY

Hey! I am alive and well (not too well because my 6 isn't on the road yet) Here is the status of my engine rebuild. Head has been redone, skimmed (not shaved as it was shaved before) and painted. New rocker cover. Engine block is back from the spa (it was hot dipped) with new frost plugs, cylinders deglazed, block primed and painted. The crank was ground, and balanced along with the fly wheel. Pistons are all cleaned up and new rings installed. I am (running out of ) patiently waiting TRF backorder on mains. I have a new mild cam fron BPNW. And finnally I hope to have the engine bay stripped and painted next week before engine goes back in.
Maybe July will see her back "on the road again".
Cheers

Pete- Is the maims from TRF the Bearings? Check out BPNW and another thread on their bearings.

Henry
I have 600 miles since rebuild. My joy of high oil pressure got me carried away. Will not do it as often till I get closer to 800.
Henry, wish I knew you where in Detroit. Was there all last week and go to Detroit 3 times/yr. I was in Lavonia and Fraser.

Don, 6000???

I have had her out every day this week. It is British Car Week after all.

Don, yes I mean the main bearings. BPNW do have HD main bearings, but not 030 size. As I said to Rick I was under the impression that TRF King bearings were of better quality that the standard ones from BPNW. Correct me if I am wrong. I will call TRF today to determine status of back order.
Cheers

You can find the guy that owns the Pontiac engined TR-6 on the "Performance Years" forum. Do a search for Triumph or TR-6 and you should find him.

Pete and others interested,
see current thread re bearings.

Rick,

Next time you're coming to town shoot me an email. I'll show you the TR and maybe take you for a ride in my boat. I can even drag you around on a ski or wake board.... Sound like fun?

I'm in Waterford about 30 mile NW of Detroit and about 10 miles N of Livonia.
