Welcome back Les

Be careful when pulling off the hub. As with the TR6 you can bend it and warp it.

I have a 68 Spitfire where I just finished replacing the bearings in the passenger side rear axle.

Thanks Mike.

Tried using the 3 arm puller plus heat no good. searched on sites and it looks like I need a hub puller that goes onto the lug nuts....what did you use..oh im in the Midland area now by Georgian Bay

Hey Les:
Long time gone buddy. Good to hear from you. Careful what you say about Targa or I'll probably find a job for you for the week. If you're interested in volunteering and catching the action let me know. We pay accommodations and a small per diem and provide transportation. Just heard we have two Lamborghinis registered this year. Pic of Stevie's TR6 puller attached for general interest.
Cheers,
Bob

thank Bob for the info and pic...

I did use a puller from work which has a full back support, torqued it a bit and then heat. It popped off. But this is the second (maybe third time)this has been done over the past 20 years. The first time took a lot of heat before it popped off. Have also used a press successfully.

The safest way is to use what Bob has pictured which bolts to the drive flange with the wheel studs and then you torque up the center bolt. (or a flange that you bolt to the drive flange using the wheel studs with a hole in the center that you can get the press on.)

The extra flange prevents the drive flange from warping.

Geez Les, didn't realize you where gone?

Bob can you resend the image to gilholmel@gbgh.on.ca and if you have the dimensions that would help...I can refigure for the spit
