Hi Les Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the unemployment. I have been there a few times. What's in Newfoundland that you are heading to? Say hi to Bob for us. |

Hi Mike I was just thinking about the time we met in Georgetown. When the missus and I tied the knot in 74, I promised her that when I retired, I would take her back home to NFLD. So when I got let go, she thought that was the trigger to retire (thinks to myself...not yet), so we are going to buy a home on the Avalon. Me still looking for contract work. Might try to get involved with Targa Newfoundland. Im hoping to meet Bob Evans when I settle. |

Les, Just discovered a new adventure in Single Malts from Eradour, a highly peated malt called Ballechin. You'd swear you were on Islay just from a whiff of a watch lid. Excellent peaty malt. Try it if you have not. db |

Hi Guys: Belated Happy New Year! Just finished sanding the primer in the engine bay of the TR6 and hope to paint it by next weekend. Such a very long time I have been at this; took the engine out New Year's Eve 2011 and bought the Z4 in April 2012 therefore neglecting the TR. Now back at it seriously and will have her up and running by the time the snow melts. I'm thinking of selling the TR and wonder about emissions regs in the US. I would advertise the TR for sale in eastern Canada and the New England states. I've replaced the original 1976 engine with a 1974 engine with no air pump or EGR. Does anybody know if that is legal in the US and if the car could pass an emissions test in the eastern US? Cheers, Bob |

hi Bob. I leave NS on the 8th Feb, dock on the 9th at P-A-B unless we get ice bound. Spending the weekend in Stephenville, then heading to the in-laws in the Goobies. We are looking to relocate near Carbonear. Would like to get together sometime. email me ljgilholme at hotmail dot com Les |

Hi Bob If emission regs in the east US are anything like Ontario any car over 25 years is not subjected to testing or having to meet the standard of the time. Regards Mike Hi Les Here's to enjoying the Rock and semi retirement. Maybe one of these years when I can manage to get 2 weeks off together, my wife and I will make a TR6 trip to Nfld. We've been on a quick trip for a conference in 2000 in St. Johns and managed to get to Bonaventure but I would really like to tour the whole island some day. |

Thanks Mike. More or less what I hoped - may never happen though. Painted the engine bay Saturday but will still need one more coat to finish - hopefully this Saturday. All that kept me from putting the thing back together was procrastinating on painting that engine bay so hoping for some real progress starting soon. Les: you've got mail. Cheers, Bob |
