Triumph TR6 - Indicator arm return
I have a 1973 US spec TR6 and I replaced the indicator arm because it was not returning to its "park" position. However, the fault still persists. What can I do to correct this fault? Thanks in advance. |

Hi M D It might have something to do with the steering wheel bushings. If the steering wheel rod has too much play (side to side) the node on the steering wheel rod that contacts the indicator may not be engaging it properly. Replace the bushings if you have too much steering wheel play and see if that fixes it up. Regards Mike Petryschuk |

Another potential cause is either an out of position or missing cancelling cam. It's a "clip" that mounts around the steering column and has a raised area on it to actuate the switch cancelling mechanism. |

Hi Everybody. Thanks for yoru coments. I am inclined to go for the "cancel clip" and have ordered one at Rimmer Bros. I hope it works. |

Michael that happens to me only when I turn Right so I agree it is probably the cam(s). I need to replace my column bushings so will do the traficator at that time. Glad to hear one can buy just those little cams. Rick |

Rick- Too many left turns and you might end up in Seattle. Just to let you know. I might be relocating to SC. Will know hopefully soon as I want to get the show on the road. |
