Triumph TR6 - Interior Light & Vent Q's

Re 76 TR6

Can anyone tell me what the small light is for located behind where the radio would go? It's dangling down from an incomplete re&re process. It has a purple (mauve) power wire and a green with orange stripe ground wire. Was it used for the stock radio? If not, where should it go? Is it the fasten seatbelt warning light?

Also, under the cubby box there is a vent at the end of a short flex tube similar to what is in the dash. It can be opened and closed similarly. Should it be there?

Thanks in advance.

Ken

I know I may have to source help from Mr. Masters in the short term I'll be back with Q's about the three relays. On of them overheats. In the shop manual I don't see diagrams with wire colors identified for these sections.
Ken Shaddock

Hi Ken,
If it is light green with orange tracer then I believe it is the seat belt warning light, as for the vent, it should be mounted below and to the right of the glove box..almost below the one on the dash.
It faces towards your feet

Excellent, thanks Charlie. I just found that vent illustrated in a parts book for TR6's I picked up in Vancouver... good reference and good people. If you'd like one they are free by calling 1 800 459 0251 Octagon Motor Group Limited. They have a website.

Ken

PS. I'll label that wire then for future. I don't need the reminder to wear a seat belt.

Ken,
Both, VOLs I & and II of the TRF supply catalogs are available on line at TRF. Between them, they have exploded diagrams of just about every part of our LBCs. You can download the catalogs. Hard copies are no longer available, although I've been bugging John Swauger to get 'em into reprint. Best references I've found...OR...go to Revington.com and select the appropriate diagram blowup. It, like TRF's catalog, will show where the vents go as well as the rest of the components.

Doug, I found an old copy here at home and you are absolutely right. I jumped too quickly to the BBS... like calling friends. The drawings are excellent. I'll look for wiring details. Ken

I thought I gave you a copy of CDII at BCD. If I did not send me an e-mail with your address and I will burn and send one to you. It has TRF VOL II on it.

I am still looking for an electronic copy of VOL I. hint hint to anyone.
Rick Crawford

Hi Rick. Glad to see you back on line. I too do not have a copy of cdII. Could you burn an extra for me.
Cheers

Pete
I can drive to you home with my eyes closed and really enjoy the drive. ( I recall I have even done it in the winter:)
BUT, I have no clue to you address other than Erin.
Maybe you should fire me off an e-mail.
Rick Crawford

Sorry Rick... forgot to say that I do have a copy of CDII. Do I have to put it in the computer and actually look stuff up or can I just ask you questions all the time? ;)Ken
